Go Spartans!! This fall the East High coaching staff and players, in cooperation with Supreme Court Basketball, will be instructing six fundamental skills clinics for players in grades K-8. Clinics will focus on the fundamentals (ball-handling, shooting, passing, footwork, etc.) that ALL players need to continually improve their game. Click on the button below for all of the details. This fall clinic is just one of our extremely successful Spartan Youth Basketball Events (Midnight Madness, Spartan Youth Night, and the LE Summer Clinic). These events along with our involvement in the East Supreme program has allowed us to reach out to many youth players and help develop the skills of players who in the future will wear the Spartan blue and white.
Here is some information regarding our try-out schedule and process.
Prior to your player being allowed to try-out, he must have ALL paper work turned in by Friday, Nov. 13.
Our try-out schedule will be as follows: (Team notifications and "cut" dates may change from below based on coaching decisions) Monday, Nov. 16 9th Grade - 3:30-5:30 10th-12th Grade - 6:00-8:00 Tuesday, Nov. 17 9th Grade - 6:00-8:00 10th-12th Grade - 4:00-6:00 *Varsity/JV players will be notified of team selection *Preliminary Freshman cuts Wednesday, Nov. 18 9th/10th Grade - 3:30-6:00 *Reserve players will be notified of team selection *Preliminary Freshman cuts Thursday, Nov. 19 9th Grade - 6:00-8:00 *Freshman players will be notified of team selection Each player trying-out will have a one-on-one conversation with a member of the East High coaching staff regarding their status on one of our teams. We will personally let your player know if they made a team or not. Please help prepare your player for this conversation as this provides a great life learning opportunity on how to react to and accept positive and/or negative news. As a coaching staff we feel players deserve this type of communication as they have worked hard and put themselves out there in a tough situation during try-outs. We look forward to a very competitive and productive try-out and are excited about the upcoming season. Go Spartans!
A well deserved night of recognition awaits these Spartan Senior basketball players on Friday, February 6. All of these seniors have represented our team, our program, and our school in a positive manner during their four years at East High. We wish them the best in their futures and appreciate the hard work and dedication they have shown. Congrats go out to them for having an impact not only during their time at East High but also for positively impacting the future of Spartan basketball for years to come!!
